General Education 2019-2020

The courses listed below will fulfill the lower division general education requirements for all CSU campuses.

California State University (CSU) Upper Division Transfer Requirements:

Students are eligible for upper division admission with completion of 60 CSU transferable units that include:

  • A minimum of 30 lower division units of general education courses with grades of C- or better
  • Courses from general education areas A1, A2, A3 and B4 with a grade of C- or better
  • 2.0 CSU transferable GPA (This is the minimum GPA for consideration; many campuses/majors are competitive and may require a higher GPA for admission.)

Students must be in good standing at the last college or university attended.

CSU General Education Notes

  1. Courses on this list have been approved by the CSU Office of the Chancellor for Fall 2019 and beyond. If a course was completed prior to approval, it cannot be certified for CSU General Education Breadth requirements.
  2. Some majors require specific general education courses. Students planning to transfer are advised to plan their schedules carefully in order to maintain progress.
