Jeffrey George

As a professional web designer for Mt. San Antonio College, Jeffrey has created a reputation for himself as leading photographer, graphic artist, and technical know-how for interactive and web design. Jeffrey has taken national awards for his photography and web design. Creative collaboration is what Jeffrey loves most, making Mt. SAC look great.

At Mt. SAC, Jeffrey works with the Web Team within the Information Technology (IT) Department. A majority of projects are done in conjunction with the Marketing Department and academic and student programs in developing web layouts, graphics, and inserting content on pages. Jeffrey participates in a number of campus activities by capturing moments with his camera for Commencement, Student Services Events, Academic Programs, Mt. SAC Landscapes, Construction/Demolition and more. Many of the images captured also go on to be published on the Mt. SAC Website, printing materials published by the Marketing team, and broadcast on a number of digital signage displays around campus.  A few photos have been included in the bound, soft-cover book, Images of America: Walnut showcasing the 53-year history of Walnut which Mt. SAC resides.

Jeffrey honors life and believes all that nature has to offer is sacred. He has a deep abiding respect for life and his photographs allow the viewer to have a profound relationship with both inanimate and breathing things both.

Jeffrey has been named "Product Ambassador" for Insta360 in 2018. He assists people with photography and technical questions, he also contributes his own work to serve as an example to teach others.

Jeffrey has contributed to the preservation of natural spaces as well. He has volunteered for a number of decades for various conservancies. Currently on the Advisory Board for the Tubb Canyon Desert Conservancy in Borrego Springs, CA.

Background

Jeffrey has lived in Southern California all his life, born in San Dimas and raised in Diamond Bar. He participated in the Diamond Bar High School Marching Band where the band ranked within the top 10 bands in California, even earning the opportunity to participate in the Pasadena Rose Parade. Jeffrey also participated in the orchestra, playing the violin. Around the same time, Jeffrey was fulfilling his interest in Astronomy with the purchase of a 18 inch Dobsonian telescope (just barely fitting in his prized pickup truck). He also volunteered at the Rancho Santiago College Tessmann Planetarium where he presented a few shows about Comets in time for Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 that crashed into Jupiter.  Participating with the planetarium and the Orange Country Astronomers, Jeffrey began getting involved in computers. He began as a Sys-Op for the Orange Country Astronomers BBS, and Telescopes In Education BBS, pre-internet days. HTML was the natural transition forward, later becoming his profession.

Jeff's journeys have included family trips as well as solo adventures. Jeffrey and his 4x4 truck have traveled over 330,000+ miles together. He's been north to Prudhoe Bay in Alaska, west to Kodiak Island and as far east as Maine, and to the sand beaches of North Carolina. This has taken him to 30 States and 3 Canadian Provinces.

Jeffrey draws further inspiration from his companionship and travel with kindred spirit, and wife, Jenny. They share an energy of creativity as they share experiences together. Jeffrey says "Every day there seems to be new windows into the world that we look through together, loving the opportunity to grow together." We were blessed with marriage in October of 2013. The best time is "Jenny Time".

Jeffrey has been a full time employee of Mt. SAC since April 18, 2005. Jeffrey has worked in Marketing & Communication under Clarence (CB) Brown, the transferred to Information Technology under Victor (Vic) Belinski, back to Marketing & Communication under Clarence (CB) Brown, and currently in Web & Portal team of IT under Eric Turner.

Jeff previously worked as a Graphics Lab Tech at Mt. SAC. Moved on to becoming the first Web Designer for Mt. SAC as an hourly employee. Jeff left Mt. SAC for a few years to work for Small Island in Long Beach where he did project for clients such as Nexxus and Sebastian, or web sites for educational and various clients.
