Jobs such as Alterations Sewer, Alterations Tailor, Bridal Gown Fitter, Coat Cutter, Coat Maker, Couture Dressmaker, Dress Fitter, Fur Tailor, Garment Fitter, and Suit Maker.

  • Students will be able to select and handle tools correctly.
  • Students will be able to use the types of sewing machines effectively.
  • Students will be measuring to create proper sizing.
  • Students will be able to demonstrate marking and tailoring techniques.
  • Students will be able to apply various seam finishes.
  • Students will be able to construct haute couture decorative techniques and embellishments.
  • Students will be able to apply basic principles and processes of assembling garments correctly.
  • Students will be able to make patterns correctly.
  • Students will be able to identify fabric type.
  • Students will be able to demonstrate coordination of fabric, textures and color.
  • Students will be able to adapt, lay out patterns and cut garments.
  • Students will be able to apply trade drawings, science and calculations when necessary.
